Hoya Black and White Colored Filters Filters

DESCRIPTION

Black & White films register colors as shades of grey and the rendition of each color in a scene is important, so filters can be used to control this.

Strength:

Good filters at a good price. Most are coated to reduce reflections.

Slimmer rings than most Tiffens, especially in smaller diameters.

Weakness:

The HMC coating is very fragile. Handle with care! Don't ever try to clean it with fluid.

Odd bit: the Hoya red seems more orange than the Nikon red or Tiffen red. The yellow has a slightly increased density too. This is neither a plus or a minus, it simply *is*. I generally like Hoya filters, have used them for years. They do the job.
