Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $3.00 from FotoFun foto source

Summary:

This filter I got for a bargain!

I have a one with a 52 mm thread.

It had some stains on the outer surface, but they came off with a lens cloth and fluid. Other than that, it was in very good condition.

Strengths:

It works just as a circular polarizer should, by twisting a ring, reflections can be easily eliminated. It also darkens blue skies and increases overall contrast and saturation. The intensity of the effect can be adjusted too.

Weaknesses:

None, really.

Just watch out when turning the filter's ring, because its thin profile can cause a finger to appear in the photo.

Similar Products Used:

Pentax SMC skylight filter.
Hoya center-spot filter.
Tiffen UV Haze-1 filter.
Optex Multi-image filter.
Kenko 4-point star filter.

(Each was $2.99).

Customer Service:

No experience with Kenko customer service.

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $48.00 from Internet

Summary:

I have Kenko 67mm Circluar Polarizer and I really really like it. I have used and compared with Hoya and Tiffen circular polarizers and found it to be a whole lot better and consistently producing pleasing results. Even though Kenko don't advertise it but it appear that there is a mix of 81A warming filter to it. I recently been to Glacier N.P. in Montana and got some very pleasing results. In fact I just purchased a Multi coated DMC Kenko circular polarizer this week for my Nikon 18-200mm VR lens after considering Hoya's Moose Filter.

Strengths:

Good construction, appears that it has a mix of 81A warming filter.

Weaknesses:

Wish it came in a soft case rather than the hard plastic case for carrying purposes.

Similar Products Used:

Tiffen, Hoya

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $40.00

Summary:

The verall construction of this filter appeared OK, but it is really the quality of the glass and how effective it is. Having a Hoya polarizer to compare it to I quickly returned the Kenko to the store for a refund The filter allowed approximately 15% more reflection to remain when compared to the Hoya If you are looking for a reasonable Polarizer this one is OK If you want really BLACK water effects - buy the Hoya

Strengths:

Price (barely)

Weaknesses:

Does not filter out all reflections

Similar Products Used:

Hoya Polarizer

Customer Service:

no opinion
