THK Moose Filter-Warming Circular Polarizer Filters
Product DescriptionA side effect of both linear and circular polarizes is they “cool down” or make the over-all color balance of a scene slightly bluish. The addition of the 81A glass corrects the color temperature, bringing the scene back to the original 5500K for daylight film’s color balance. The 81A glass creates a much more pleasing and “warm” color balance to the entire scene while the circular polarizer increases color contrast and reduces the effect of atmospheric haze. Filter Factor: 2-2 1/2 stops

from Seattle, WA Date Reviewed: June 16, 2002 Strengths: Tremendous value for the money. One filter does the job of two so there's less chance of vignetting on most wide angle lenses. Very pleasing color rendition for a polarizer...landscape rendition is nothing short of stunning. A mere fraction of the cost of B+W's warming polarizer. Weaknesses: Ring is a little thick for ultra wide angle lenses. Doesn't impress the pretentious set with a stratospherically absurd price. from Vancouver Date Reviewed: February 19, 2001 Strengths: Allows the use of two filters in one.When using a wide lens this is a great plus.The quality is very good,optically and mechanically.This will work well with scenic photographers.Now one can use a grad filter,circ pol and a warming all at once.The Hoya glass must be HMC. Weaknesses: I used many warming filters in the past.I find this one a little cool for a 81a.for large filter diameter (eg.72 and up )the price can get high.
