Model Reviewed: G Claron 240mm f/9 Summary: Delivers outstandingly sharp, saturated and contrasty images in spite of being only single coated..especially with reversal films such as Fuji Velvia or Kodak VS100. This is an ideal lens for large format landscape user. I've found that I have used the 240mm and 125mm focal lengths more often than my intermediate 180mm lens. The relatively lightweight of the Schenider Claron G makes it ideal for field use. Strengths: Compactness, nice for backpacking treks Weaknesses: Originally designed as a reprographic lens adapted to general use, single coating, but flare is not a problem with a bit of care. Similar Products Used: Nikon and Fujinon Customer Service: Seems to be above average.
