Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $750.00 from Miami

Summary:

This is the only telephoto lens that I could afford from mamiya so this is the one I have.

Strengths:

Nice lens above f/8, but that usually forces me to use higher speed film than I would like.

Weaknesses:

I don't this lens is nearly as sharp as my other 2 mamiya lenses.

Customer Service:

No problems

Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $300.00 from eBay, used

Summary:

I don't use this lens nearly as much as the shorter 150/3.5 --similar to a 90 lens on a 35mm camera. Yet I find it to be "very good" ...and a bargain, used, on eBay.

Strengths:

Solid, light-weight performer. I'm a critical user, yet find this a very good optic.

Weaknesses:

At this price point, none. Some find this too long (similar to a 135 lens on a 35mm camera) for studio portraits. Others complain it doesn't focus close enough... Need closer focus? Get an RB or RZ.

Similar Products Used:

The entire M645 lens line. This optic, as most all normal-to-long Mamiyas, compares well.

Customer Service:

Top notch.

Review 3 of 5

Price Paid:  $340.00 from UK dealer

Summary:

I wouldn't bother. Having said that, I still use it because the only alternative is the 200 APO which is out of my price range.

Strengths:

None

Weaknesses:

Poor quality. Serious vignetting by rear of lens, also internally somewhere. Pincusioning. Poor edge definition. Doesn't become acceptable below f8

Similar Products Used:

c version which was marginally worse.

Review 4 of 5

Summary:

Compared to the 150mm f/3.5 or 300mm f/5.6 ULD the 210mm f/4 is the poorest one. The 150mm fits much better to portrait work. Both, the 150mm and the 300mm, result in higher image quality (better sharpness, less vignetting).

Strengths:

None

Weaknesses:

Too long minimum focusing distance for portrait work; Problems with vignetting; Average image quality.

Similar Products Used:

150mm f/3.5; 300mm f/5.6 ULD
