Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $5000.00 from B&H

Summary:

A great super lens for 645. Produces the sharpest picture in it's category. Yes, it's even sharper than the Zeiss 350mm and 500mm lens for the hassy. A great value

Strengths:

Sharp, Sharp, Sharp! Great color, and nice out of focus area blur.

Weaknesses:

Heavy. But for it's capability, nothing less will do.

Similar Products Used:

Zeiss Tele-Apotessar CF 500mm f8.

Customer Service:

None needed

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $4000.00

Summary:

A big, heavy lens, with stunning optical quality. Due to the size and weight of the lens, a STURDY support like the Wimberley head or Arca-Swiss B1G is needed. This lens is the best value in the market if you need a super-telephoto lens for medium format.

Strengths:

-remarkably good optical quality -solidly built

Weaknesses:

- very heavy - manual focus

Similar Products Used:

Canon EF 500mm f4.5L

Customer Service:

Not needed for this product, but Pentax Canada is generally quite good.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $3600.00 from eBay

Summary:

This is an awesome lens, probably the fastest long lens in any medium format. I used for about 1.5 years, and produced pictures that are in a whole new category. Pictures are very sharp, and color more saturated than any other long lens I''ve used. And plus, the price is unbeatable! B&H was selling it for about $5000. I got mine in mint condition at 2/3 of it. Not bad. If it were a Mamiya or Hasseblad, it will be in 5 digit number. The best reason I choose a Pentax 645 system. It also has an adaptor to use Pentax 35mm cameras on it. And I got mine ME Super for a song. And used it to shoot the moon pictures.

Strengths:

Optical quality, with ED glass. And PRICE!!!

Weaknesses:

Heavy, needs solide tripod. But then, any lens in that calibar wouldn''t?

Similar Products Used:

EOS 300mm F2.8. Hasseblade 500mm f8.
