Strengths: Relatively light & compact
Sharp
Low distortion
Above average flare resistance
Feels more like a 20 or 21mm than the theoretical 24mm equivalent compared to 35mm (an advantage to me!)Weaknesses: 82mm filters.
Lens hood can't be attached reversed for carrying.Bottom Line: A very good lens, easily compares to some of the best ultrwides I've used for 35mm (and I've probably tried the best).
In 35mm, a 20 or 21mm lens is one of my favorites and this feels just like one, though it theoretically works out to be somewhat longer.
It's also surprisingly light and relatively compact, so comes close to what I'd describe as a dream lens.
82mm filters are a pain and the (rather good) lens shade can't be mounted reversed for transport.

Strengths: Lightweigh, very small lens for 6x7.
Very good / excellent optical performance.
1/2 stop clicks.
Weaknesses: 82mm filter thread leads to expensive filters. I would like to buy the Pentax filters (bayonet mounting) but they are so expensive!!Bottom Line: If you are a landscape photographer then this excellent lens is a very good reason to buy the Pentax 67. Compared with Bronica 67 wide angle this lens is tiny and lightweight. Compared to Hasselblad etc. this lens is a bargain.

Strengths: Very light weight, doubly so if the waist level finder is used. Minimal distortion; edge focus is quite good at all f-stops. Contrasty.Weaknesses: All filter brands used (82mm) induce some distortion and flare.Bottom Line: An excellent all-around lens for the 67. A top choice for quality photojournalism; especially if you like to work up close to the subject.

Strengths: wonderful lens. Sharpness, contrast and color are all top notchWeaknesses: large filter size, although there is a clip for slip-in rear gelatin filterBottom Line: A must have lens in the 67 line up...Wide, but not too wide...the 55 I have heard is also excellent but that angle is too much like the boring 28mm lens in 35 mm format....with the 45 you can always crop to the 55's angle. DONT hesitate to buy this lens

Strengths: Pentax affordability and quality. Compact design makes it easy to carry around. Suprisingly low distortion for a wide angle.Weaknesses: Not cheap to buy screw on filters, but I prefer gels most of the time.Bottom Line: A perfect lens to compliment the 67 system by Pentax. If you need wide, then this is your lens. I shoot in a lot of cramped situations and this lens can crunch me in no problem. Qulity is top notch. I shot w/ a 500cm and Zeiss lense for over ten years and wanted a system for out of the studio, and Pentax was it. When you shoot w/ Zeiss lenses, then quality is a top priority. Pentax easily rival Zeiss if not surpasses it. Bold statement...you bet, and it's true.
