    Strength:

Sharp,sharp,sharp....with vivid color saturation.Built like a tank to withstand the rigors of heavy field use.Well designed and user friendly in the field. If you are into wildlife and sports work and can find one of these bad boys for sale you better jump on it !!

    Weakness:

Yes.....its heavy ...but show me a pro grade 600 that isnt.....if weight is a problem stick with a point and shoot!!

I have been shooting medium format since the late 60s...almost always Pentax... and both the 67 and 645...I have used all of the other MF systems but always would come back to the Pentax......This 600mmEDIF lens for their 645 is in a class by itself (as is their 400EDIFmm for the 67 )...I have used the lens for many years in the Everglades and in Africa and I am always impressed with the results. Yes,...it is sharper than my old Hassy lenses...and any other MF tele that I have used.....After fighting the trend for many years I am giving up my beloved Pentax system and going to the MF Hasselblad 50mp...but not without a fight!!...I am having the Pentax 600mm lens fited to a Hassy lens keeping the Hassy shutter and apeture. Im not exactly sure what the focal length will be after going to a slightly smaller format but it will blow anything Hassy has out of the water!!....The best of both worlds now!!

    Strength:

Sharp, Sharp, Sharp! Great color, and nice out of focus area blur.

    Weakness:

Heavy. But for it's capability, nothing less will do.

A great super lens for 645. Produces the sharpest picture in it's category. Yes, it's even sharper than the Zeiss 350mm and 500mm lens for the hassy. A great value

    Strength:

-remarkably good optical quality -solidly built

    Weakness:

    - very heavy - manual focus

A big, heavy lens, with stunning optical quality. Due to the size and weight of the lens, a STURDY support like the Wimberley head or Arca-Swiss B1G is needed. This lens is the best value in the market if you need a super-telephoto lens for medium format.

    Customer Service

Not needed for this product, but Pentax Canada is generally quite good.

    Strength:

Optical quality, with ED glass. And PRICE!!!

    Weakness:

Heavy, needs solide tripod. But then, any lens in that calibar wouldn''t?

This is an awesome lens, probably the fastest long lens in any medium format. I used for about 1.5 years, and produced pictures that are in a whole new category. Pictures are very sharp, and color more saturated than any other long lens I''ve used. And plus, the price is unbeatable! B&H was selling it for about $5000. I got mine in mint condition at 2/3 of it. Not bad. If it were a Mamiya or Hasseblad, it will be in 5 digit number. The best reason I choose a Pentax 645 system. It also has an adaptor to use Pentax 35mm cameras on it. And I got mine ME Super for a song. And used it to shoot the moon pictures.
