    Strength:

    Good performance, features, and value.

    Weakness:

Date-stamping function is too easy to activate by accident. There is no exposure adjustment or back-light compensation feature.

Note: I'm an engineer not a photographer, so keep my comments in perspective. I was looking for a full-featured P&S camera for general family and travel use. After much research I settled on the Evoca 90W, and I'm happy with it. It is a nice little camera and provides great value for the money. It takes nice pictures indoors and out. I have only used ASA 400 film. Focusing is quick and generally accurate. Exposure seems pretty good. It isn't mentioned in any of the specs, but this camera has an autofocus illuminator that fires a red light pattern on the subject while focussing. This allows it to focus in complete darkness. Nice, no low-light problems! Shutter response time including auto-focus is good. Complaints about shutter lag are one thing that scared me away from the Yashica T4. I have no complaints about lag here. The wide 28mm lens is nice for interior shots and is not a common feature. Overall it is a good performer in a relatively compact (but not tiny) package. Build quality seems fine although not quite as high as I anticipated. It really is a plastic-body camera, not metal. It has a metal plate across the front, but it's just for decoration. Can't complain for the money though. Battery life seems reasonable. I got about 14 rolls of film (some rolls were 36 exp) out of my first battery. CR123 batteries are cheap if purchased in bulk (www.surefire.com). A few minor complaints: - I don't like date-stamps on my photos. Unfortunately this feature is very easy to activate by accident on this camera. It can be activated even when the camera is turned off. I find myself having to check this frequently to make sure it stays off. Someday maybe I'll open up the camera and just rip off the button. :) - The LED's for focus and flash status are beside the viewfinder rather than inside it. Thus they are difficult to see under outdoor lighting. This design is common for today's cameras, but my old camera had the indicators inside the viewfinder which was nicer. - If the battery runs out while the camera is turned on, you can't retract the lens without inserting a new battery. This problem may not be unique to this camera, but I think you should still be able to turn the camera off even when there's not enough juice left to take photos. Solution: Don't forget to carry a spare battery. :)

    Weakness:

Cheap Case for a camera with all the bells and whistles.

This camera has alot of bells and whistles with a 28mm to 90mm zoom. Takes Excellent pictures, with all types of asa films. This camera is better than the Yashica T4 zoom, at about the same price. This is my first experience with Samsung and I am really pleased with the results from the camera. The only thing I feel that could be improved is the case, kind of cheap. I would highly recomend this camera. The Schneider lens F4.5-11.0 produces excellent quality photographs. This Camera comes in kit form with case, remote, strap, battery, and one year warranty
