Review 1 of 14

Price Paid:  $70.00 from Local Outlets

Model Reviewed:
fotoprisa 300

Summary:
This busted printer ruined my entire life and wasted a lot of cash trying to buy both camera and this printer. I thought I could develop my own photos at home by now, but the winxp driver sucked. Why? Because it is not digitally signed for xp. Well it prints, the punch line is later on it could not detect the ribbon and will discard the printing job. All I could get are red pictures which looks like me and my family/friends are in hell. Could someone tell me where I can get a better driver please? tenjinmon@hotmail.com

Strengths:
Nice printin' (yeah right)

Weaknesses:
Is there any better xp drivers?

Similar Products Used:
I shouldn't know...

Review 2 of 14

Price Paid:  $160.00 from Acer Direct

Model Reviewed:
Acer Fotoprisa

Summary:
It appears that this product is no longer manufactured but it is a great printer that was not advertised as others. I purchased it 3 years ago when it cost a third the price of an equivalent Olympus model which could connect directly to my Olympus camera. I recently purchased a new home computer with Windows XP and thought I could use the old driver, no luck. I had to download (from the Benq site) the new XP driver and after a few unsuccessful attempts I thought I'd have to trash the printer. I finally read the instructions on how to load the driver and the little printer continues to produce 4 by 6 photographs that most people can't tell aren't professionally processed photos from a traditional camera. You can create borders by sizing the image appropriately. The colors are vibrant and the quality is still far beyond the ink jets that are classified as photo printers. Of course you are limited to the 4x6 photo size. I suspect that the paper (and ribbon) sets will be hard to find but the packages are sealed and I've purchased a substabtial quantity to last a while. At 99 bucks it's a steal.

Strengths:
Traditional photo quality

Weaknesses:
Paper and ribbon availability.

Price Paid:  $99.00 from Acer.com

Model Reviewed:
FotoPrisa 300P

Summary:
Nice parallel Windows 98 Dye-Sub. Acer has discontinued this model, and there are no plans for a Win2K driver. Print quality is great; lets hope I can find supplies.

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
FotoPrisa 300P is totally useless for me. It does not have Win2000 driver. I don''t want to downgrade my PC only because this printer. I sent a note to Acer asking them and the only response saying "someone will answer your note ...". But, nobody ever answered my note.

Review 5 of 14

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
FotoPrisa 300P is useless for me. It does support Windows 2000. I need Windows 2000 for other applications and can not downgrade my system to Windows 95/98. I sent a note to ask Acer more than a year ago. The only response from them saying "someone will reply your note ...". And, that''s it! No further reply!
