    Review 1 of 23

Price Paid:  $200.00 from office depot

    Summary:
I have been very happy with this printer since I bought it. Recently, because of infrequent use, the print head clogged up causing degraded print quality. I tried the "deep cleaning" function, which did not remove the clog....only depleted my ink tanks. Cannon support suggested cleaning the head with a Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol...did not work. Finally, I removed the ink tanks and submerged the head and ink input nipples inside the tank compartment in rubbung alcohol. Ink started to ooze from the head discoloring the alcohol. I repeated again with clean alcohol and let it soak overnight. Removed it the next AM and let it dry all day. I'm happy to report the print quality is back to being superb!

    Review 2 of 23

    Price Paid:  $129.00 from Staples

    Summary:
Wonderful printer! I've printed at least 50 8"x10"s, several dozen borderless 4"x6" prints, and an uncounted number of borderless 8.5"x11" prints with wonderful results. As long as you are working in (or convert to) SRGB colorspace you will get beautiful results with good images and Canon paper. As with any inkjet, it is designed to work with the manufacturer's paper. They have the best chemical mixture. However, I have EXCELLENT results also with Epson paper, which can be easier to locate and occasionally cheaper. I use this printer as a professional photographer and sell prints from it to clients. They don't know the difference between these prints and those from a lab! It has some of the smoothest gradations that you'll find in an inkjet with beautiful color. I wholeheartedly recommend this printer! I've owned two Epson photo printers previously, and neither gave quality anywhere near this good, or this reliably. I'm sticking with Canon! It's a great compliment to the 10D!

    Strengths:
Color saturation Color quality Smooth gradients Richness of B&W prints Durability and lifespan of prints Speed

    Weaknesses:
Output on plain (copier/laser) paper is mediocre, but this is a photo printer - it is not meant for that use

    Customer Service:
    Never needed! Best kind!

    Review 4 of 23

    Price Paid:  $129.00 from Staples

    Model Reviewed:
    Canon s820

    Summary:
I purchased this printer based on the reviews I have read here. After printing numerous photos (25 8x10 one after the other,) I noticed first a blue and then a red tint. I adjusted for this and the pictures were fine. I was printing on Kodak paper based upon the Kodak website's specification and the photo's were excellent. When printing on Canon photo paper pro the pictures are even better. The papers and inks are somewhat expensive when purchased in stores, but I have found a sight, WWW.ATLEX.COM, that sells the papers and inks at least $2.00 cheaper than I have found elsewhere. Shipping is fast and I have never had a problem. Great quality for the price.

    Strengths:
Very inexpensive printer for the quality True , vivid color. Ability to make printer adjustments before printing Prints photos quickly Individual ink tanks saves money Straight forward, easy to understand set- up and instructions

    Weaknesses:
Canon paper can be expensive...shop around for the best price. When printing in mass quantity you must watch for color imabalances, which can be corrected.

    Epson 2000p

One terrific printer. Highly recommended, but...Canon ink is expensive. Other inks available on internet ALOT cheaper but will they work? Not in mine. I bought 6 vials of ink but color is poor. I heard there is a change can be made to the printer to correct this problem. Anyone know how? Daveinolathe@comcast.net

    Strengths:
