Price Paid:  $170.00 from Datacorner, Västerås

Summary:Although Canon's i series of inkjet printers was soon replaced by the pixma series, I do not regret buying my unit of the i560. For more than a year, it has served me well. I use it with an Apple computer, a Mac G4, and I have printed quite a few photos, some of which I have shown on two exhibitions. On some occasions, my images have turned out a little too dark, but this can be compensated by using the right paper. I got the best result so far with the Konica Minolta Inkjet Paper QP Photo Silky. Before that, I had tried the Canon Photo Paper Pro PR-101, but the surface seems easily vulnerable to dust and scratches. The choice of paper seems critical to this printer, since I have not tried all the brands on the market.

Strengths:Cheap, additional software available for simple setup of printing, Easy-PhotoPrint, which, although this model is discontinued, has been updated this year, and thereby improved. The noise level is low enough for printing at night when everything is quiet.

Weaknesses:Banding when printing photos from Photoshop or .pdf files from Acrobat Reader, but

Similar Products Used:Not from Canon, but at work, I have used two printers from HP, the Deskjet 1120 C, and CP1700.

Customer Service:The service from Canon was not quite familiar with the Apple system, so I could not try out the advice I had got from them.
