from Murphys camera Summary: Very nice, bright colorful vivid pictures. Pictures come out better than what you can get from Walmart or cheap on-line places by far, but the price may come out to more once you factor in ink and paper. You can do borderless 4x6, 5x7, 8x10 or even 8.5x11 and even print on CD's too.
This is my first epson printer, I came over from canon printers(i850 and i860). Both my Canons went bad after about a year. Just after the warranty went out. The build quality of the epson is better than either of my Canons and the purchase price was cheaper. Time will tell if it lasts longer.
If this printer works out for me, I will stick with Epson. Probably upgrade in a year or so to a larger Epson printer that prints with the long lasting pigment inks. Strengths: Good build quality - Puts my old Canon printers to shame.
Excellent photo quality prints(much better than walmart prints)
Individual ink tanks - Keeps ink costs down. Only replace what you need.
Borderless printing on 4x6,5x7,8x10 & 8.5x11
Can get high quality epson paper for good prices - cheaper than canons top paper
Good printer for under $100
Weaknesses: Ink cost high - but priced the same as other manufacturers
Goes through a clean cycle when you turn the printer on which sucks alot of ink. I keep mine on always.
Uses dye based inks which fade quicker than pigment based inks(the more expensive epsons use pigment inks)
