Photosmart 1000 Summary: The drivers provided with this product are what I consider to be "crapware". It appears to be extremely severe memory leaks. Generally, I can print no more than two pages of photos without it locking up, requiring a reboot before I can do any more. Sometimes it forces a power-down, with the resulting extra wait.
Downloaded an update today (29 Oct 2002), which didn't load properly because it can't handle the restructuring of the directories. After I go by that, with about 8 reboots because it runs DOS batch files sequentially, it still works no better than before.
Tried to print a greeting card for my daughter. Did it first on plain paper. When I switched to matte paper, it would die every time. Strengths: Beautiful prints. Weaknesses: VERY FRUSTRATING, with all the rebooting required.
