Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $399.00

Model Reviewed:
Olympus, P-330

Summary:

For photo printing in this price range nothing beats a small Dye-Sup, and the P-330 performs with the best of them. Photos quality is excellent. However, the printer is far from perfect, supply are expensive upwards of $0.65 - $0.70 per print, with a very limited print formats available (small, smaller and tiny). That said we knew the cost and sizes issues when we bought it, still we use it constantly and other than the few ocasions we need larger prints we are are quite happy with our purchase. The issue that continues to detract from our enjoyment is the lack of continuing support from Olymous, not the technical support people, they have been very helpful, it is the lack of certified drivers. The last offically supported OS was Windows 98, however technical support did provide a "unsupportted" Win2K driver that does work on Windows XP. If you can live with the supply costs and the small format prints then this printer can't be beat.

Strengths:

Output Quality.

Weaknesses:

Supply cost, limited print format/size and lack of drivers.

Review 2 of 2

Model Reviewed:
Olympus P-330

Summary:

This is one heck of a printer, it prints sub dye and it looks very glossy and will last a long time. If it wasn't for it not being able to print on the entire paper it would be amazing. Also I wish they come out with one that lets you printer on paper larger than 4X6. Otherwise excellent for the money, get it if you have a digital camera.

Strengths:

It is very fast and very easy to use. Uses the same paper and ink as the Sony model. Very good color and it makes prints that look very very good.

Weaknesses:

Does not print on all of the paper leaves a whie edge around it, makes it very obvious that this was printed.

Similar Products Used:

HP photo printer and Epson 740i.

Customer Service:

Did not need it.
