Lowepro Sideline Shooter Soft Case

Lowepro Sideline Shooter Soft Case

DESCRIPTION

The Sideline Shooter holds 50 rolls of film, with adjustable dividers for unexposed and exposed film. It's also great for camera gear. I've had my D70 for a few years now and couldn't be happier with it. I purchased the kit lens (AF-S Nikkor 18-70mm 3.5-4.5 G ED) which has given me excellent results. I shoot just about everything: portraits, landscapes, travel, architecture. suspension repair

zippered pockets that dont get much use but are good to have just in case like a cable shutter release and lens cap and such. film could fit in there too though, although it might be a little tight. in the front zippered pocket i have a polaroid sx-70 with some film, and a small tripod, which extends to about three feet tall, Port Arthur Mobile Truck Repair

I found what this little bag is capable of carrying quite surprising. It can carry my camera with a lens attached plus my flash, an extra lens, 2x teleconverter, and some spare batteries. You can attach the Tamrac MAS pouches to it carry more stuff or to make more room for film inside the bag. Or you can use the pouch to carry your film. Granted, they may not fit as you may like, but it can be done. I often put my filter pouch on it. It's size is a real plus. It's not a huge bag designed to serve as a traveling warehouse, but that's not the intent. It's designed to carry a basic photography kit & if you're content with that, it'll serve you well. It fits comfortably on your hip, where I prefer to wear it. It can easily be worn on the hip front or back. The mesh pockets are handy. I sometimes use them to hold a few rolls of film & often use them to hold my lens caps.

Weakness:

Though it will accomodate a camera with a lens attached, it doesn't do it as well as I'd like. It doesn't close as easily under those conditions. It also alters the fit somewhat, but not too badly. It best serves as an accessory bag for other items with your camera and a lens carried on a strap. It doesn't accomdate my Pocket Bouncer as I'd like. I can carry it in the outside mesh pockets, but I'd really rather not carry it there. When loaded as described above, it can get a little heavy and not wear as comfortably, but that'll be the case with any bag.

As a line, I've long preferred Tamrac to others. I've never called other lines bad-- just had a prefereence for Tamrac. However, this one from LowePro is a real winner. This is actually a great little bag. It provides easy access to your equipment. Like the Tamrac Velocity 7, it doesn't look like a camera bag. It wears comfortably around your waist and can be worn in front or on your hip. A great choice for carrying your stuff while you're out & about. The bag best serves when used as an accesory bag while your camera & a lens is carried on a strap.

Found it the best lowprofile for backpacking when you're taking only 1 SLR with a zoom and a flash. Fits comfortably and well padded around my waist, hardly know it's there. Easily covered up with a shirt for situations needing discretion.

Weakness:

Hard to use top zipper to retrieve things. Not much room for a lot of film. I'd get a removable film pouch for for my next trip.

I love this bag, and it's purple!

Model Reviewed: Sideline Shooter Bag f/ Film

Strength:

I already own a Nova 3 which carries most of my equipment, but I needed a bag for the outdoors. The Sidline Shooter is great for hiking, cycling, you name it it holds all the necessary equipment. I easily fit my Pentax MZ 50 with 35-80 zoom, a Pentax 80-320 zoom, a cell phone and several rolls of film. The best thing is that this bag does not move once it is around your waist.

Weakness:

Difficult to find any with this bag, I quite pleased.

Great bag, good price. Only paid $75 (CAD) new, some stores were asking $90 (CAD) so shop around.

Strength:

This bag is a great addition to any pack that you already own, it is so flexible, you can carry a camera and a lens or two or 1-3 lenses, filters, film, or overflow from you regular bag. Quick access zipper on top of bag is a big +. Great for hiking, etc...

Weakness:

A little spendy, but worth it to have one around.

Great bag. One of the things I like is that it has 4 mesh pockets, two on the inside and two on the outside, I always tuck my lens caps into the outside ones so I know they won't get lost. Also the top has a quick acess zipper so you can retrieve something quickly without opening the entire top.

Customer Service

When I got pissed off at the rudeness of the New York chains when I went to order this bag, I called LowePro, they gave me the name of a reputable dealer (CamerWorld) that would carry this item. I don't think alot of places stock this bag, so that was a big help, I didn't quite feel comfortable when the guys in New York didn't have any clue what bag I was referring to, then all of the sudden acted like they had it and would send it--yeah right.

Slim profile, size, convenience, quality of construction

Weakness:

This bag has the slimmest profile of any belt/waist pack, important when hiking through brush or squeezing through crevices. There's
also much less bounce with each step.
The size is just right - just big enough to carry the essentials.
The bag is well-made and thoughtfully designed for the convenience of the user - ideal for fast shooting!

Slim, Contoured Fit and snugs to body as close or loose as you'd like with Bat Wings adjustment, ACCESSIBLE!!, well made, opens away from body. I could go on and on.

Weakness:

I honestly couldn't think of one

The Bottom line is that FINALLY I found the right bag for vacation, sports, and professional work. A way to stay not only hands free, but shoulders/back/and stress free! This bag stays out of the way -- but keeps all necessities close and quickly accessible. You can even loosen bat wings and flip the bag around to your backside. The top zipper is WONDERFUL so you don't have to open the bag to get at an extra roll of film. For weddings you can keep an emergency lens and tons of film. The bag easily held my 35 SLR with attatched 28-210mm lens, a flash, a few filters, a dozen rolls of film, some paper/pen. I can't say enough ..would pay twice the price.

Model Reviewed: Sideline Shooter Bag f/ Film

Strength:

Comfotable. Well designed. Well constructed. The internal dividers are adjustable. The top flap has a center zipper allowing access to interior w/o unzipping top cover, keeping equipment secure. Also, top flap is designed so that when opend the pouch on the bottom side opens right side up. Lenses and such are not likely to fall out even if the compartment is unzipped. Exterior mesh pockets allow quick access to new rolls and provide a handy place for quickly depositing exposed rolls. They also hold a small cell phone nicely.

Weakness:

None.

This bag will hold my OM-10, Infinity Zoom 330 ZLR, and 124G at the same time
with ample room for 10 rolls of extra film. If I leave out one of the cameras, it
will instead carry my T32 and 80-200 oly zoom. I can usually squeeze in an APS
p/s as well. Usually, I carry two cameras, and the bag will hold more film than I
have ever shot w/o opportunity to return to my car or abode.
