Strength:

all..its a manfrotto its strong heavy made its teh best head for medium format for the money..trust me

Weakness:

none

I use this quite often with a bogen/manfrotto 190 basic tripod and the heavy medium format camera Pentax p67 and a 150 mm Lens upfront; this cam is famed for making blur "!(with my delsey bag in the middle as a heavy stable weight.)this combo makes awesome sharp results on my negatives or slides..and my customers are happy.no blur at all. i fact you dont need to buy those enormously costly carbon super tripods to get sharper pics..or a very expensive Tripod head made in Guatamala!* buy this instead, be creative..save money..be happy. i will have this forever

Strength:

Strength, steadiness, bubble levels, QR system, adjustment range.

Weakness:

Bulky handles, needs a large-ish tripod to realise its potential.

I originally bought this head for a 144 tripod, and it worked well, but it is better matched to the 075, which it now accompanies. This is a tall, strong head and I have found it able to copy with everything up to view cameras comfortably. The bubble levels are very useful for my subjects where alignment is critical. I like the QR system as it involves a secondary wheel to tighten the plate onto the camera. It means that you don't have to screw a single fitting hard into the camera, with the potential for damagfe to the body or (in some cases) ineffectiveness through a short camera tripod screw fitting (I have a couple of cameras like this). It's all a bit big and industrial, but perfect for its intended use, and it's not overly expensive.

This is a great tripod. I have it with my 3021 tripod and i love them both, those Bubble Levels come to use a lot! I love everything about this tripod! I dont know where I would be without the quick release.

Strength:

Solid. Easy to fine tune your composition. The two built in levels are great when using wide angle lenses. I've loaded this head with a heavy camera, with bellows, focusing rail, extension tubes and a long tele. Even when tilted off level, there is no creep. When using a lighter ball head, I've had to compose "high" and let the weight of this set up "sag" into position. This head solves all that. Verticle shooting is no sweat, but I'd recommend the quick release elbow bracket if you're using an extremely heavy camera/lens combo. That accessory makes this QR system an asset in itself.

Weakness:

The height is a drawback for low angle work, but the bult and weight of this head are what make it the rock-solid no-nonsense tool that it is.

If you need fluid movement to track wildlife, look at a pro ball head. Otherwise, the 3047 is tough to beat. The controls are comfortable and logical, precise adjustments are easy, and the buble levels keep your horizons flat. A good solid head that's worth every cent.

Strength:

This thing is solid. It will hold a 35 mm with Vert. Grip and large lense with no problem. Also very fluid and locks down TIGHT.

Weakness:

Heavy. Also, I Sometimes have trouble keeping camera level in vertical position.

This is a great head. I use it with a set of 3221W legs and I haven't felt unstable yet. My cushion also came unstuck but I glued it back and it's fine. My only problem is the weight. I do alot of outdoor photography and it can be tough to trek into the woods.

Strength:

Smooth fluid action, two bubble levels, solid construction, precise adjusments, rock solid support.

Weakness:

I don't believe that its height and weight are a weakness because they contribute a lot to the "character" of the head.

I've used this head with a Bogen 3401 and felt like the setup could hold my body weight (all I need is a tripod socket somewhere on my body). Seriously speaking, this is one of the best heads out there in its class. You can get this head for around $68 at Cameraworld.com and it's almost a steal at that price. I am very pleased with this head would recommend it to anybody.

Strength:

I really like this head. It's big and solid, which makes it very steady. It's very smooth and locks down tightly. This is my "first" real head and I like it a lot. I use it on the 3021 and it's great. Great product.

Weakness:

The only thing I complain about is the weight and the price, at 62.95. But besides that, I have nothing to complain about.

Besides the price and the weight, this is a great head. And for the legs, you don't need any thing better than the 3021. The best thing for you to do is to try it out at your local store and see how you like it.

Customer Service
