The head has a handy quick-release lever, making it very easy to mount/unmount the camera. The head swivels horizontally and tilts vertically, as well as flips sideways for portrait-orientation shooting. Weakness:

Strength:
Has nice color rendition and sharpness. After comparing many photos with a 80-200mm VR zoom (the closest I had on hand) this one is as sharp at F4 as the other is at F5.6, and past they're about the same. So it's apples and oranges how much better one or the other is. albuquerqueroofingguys.com Weakness:

Strength:
Light weight, strong, very stable, good usable height especially with the long center column.
Weakness:
I wish they still made them today. I bought this incrediable tripod from a German camera repair man in San Francisco. I've been using it photographing in the bush in Australia. It's a great tripod for most digital cameras. Depending what camera I'm using, I use it either with the Bogen quick grip head or the Arca Swiss B1 head. It weighs about 4 lbs. Just enough weight to make it stable. Since it's a 4 section tripod, it's very compact, great for traveling. I have 2 other heavier gitzo tripods but I tend to use this one most of the time in the bush. I also carry a short 6" center post if I need to photograph at a low angle. This is by far the best tripod I've ever had. I've had bogens, silk, and many other professional ones. |
