It's strength is it's strength! You could park a truck on it.

The only weakness is it's weight.

I will buy a new tripod this year. Don't misunderstand, though. It will not replace this one. I will get the G1228 carbon fiber tripod to supplement this one. A lot of the photography that I do requires walking for hours, and this sucker just weighs too much. When I put the F5 and the 500f4 on it, it hurts my shoulder just to look at it! I will keep this one for using near the car and when I have to wade. I will give a value rating of 4 simply because a standard metal tripod should not be this expensive.
