Wimberley Sidekick Tripod Heads and Accessories

Wimberley Sidekick Tripod Heads and Accessories

DESCRIPTION

The Sidekick converts your ball head into a gimbal head. The Sidekick''s elevated tilt mechanism and side mounted quick release allow the lens to rotate around its center of gravity. This provides the same action and ease of use found in the Wimberley Head at greatly reduced size, weight, and cost.

Strength:

Lightweight, easy to pack and travel with, makes a lens almost float, reduces neck and shoulder strain, makes flight shooting a breeze!

Weakness:

Expensive, adds more weight to rig, requires rebalncing with the addition/removal of accessories such as teleconverters/tubes.

The Wimberley Sidekick is a blessing for those using long telephoto lens (especially those interested in tracking fast maving subjects such as birds in flight). I use this device with a Canon 500mm F4 IS, a Kirk BH-1 Ballhead, and a Gitzo 1325 CF Tripod and it works flaslessly. The Sidekick makes using a long telephoto a dream... when properly balanced, the lens almost floats. My flight shooting has improved by leaps and bounds! I have written a full review of the Sidekcik here: http://www.mkwphotography.com/Sidekick.htm I love it!

Customer Service

Excellent! Travis at Wimberlery was very prompt and curtious in my contact with him. They have a 2 months free trial of the Sidekick so you have nothing to lose!
