Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $170.00 from B&H

Summary:

This is an awesome tripod. I solved the stability issue by rigging my tripod so I can hang my camera backback from the center column.

I love how light and easy this is to use. I can't recommend this one enough ... if you're looking for a great tripod that's easy to tote around, this is the one!

Strengths:

Lack of weight
Leg locks are easy to use
Quality

Weaknesses:

Center column is a pain to use
Short
Unstable in windy conditions

Review 2 of 3

Summary:

I bought this tripod from the factory 34 years ago and have carried it all over the world. It still works perfectly even though the rubber grips perished long ago. The pan/tilt video head is still silky smooth. I was amazed to see that it is still in production, virtually unchanged except for minor details. No other tripod in this class comes close to it's strength, rigidity and durability.

Strengths:

It is very rigid for it's weight. Great for 200mm+ lenses. Fast and easy to set up, the leg locks are very reliable and never jam.

Weaknesses:

None I have found. The present price is high but worth every franc. The latest model has a grooved column which is a nice improvement.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $155.00 from Samy's Los Angeles

Summary:

Great little tripod for smaller/medium 35mm cameras, very portable and rugged, maybe too small for big/tall people.

Strengths:

Light weight, very well-made, durable, twist-locks on legs and center column nearly indestructible

Weaknesses:

no option for metal foot spikes, a little short for tall people (6'2"+), center column lock can be hard to turn with large hands because of low clearance from legs
