Bottom Line:
One of the first things I noticed after assembling the camera and housng for the first time, was that there seemed to be inadequate pressure on the camera mode selector from the housing actuator dial. The hard rubber conical gear makes contact with the edge of mode selector on the camera and there appears to be a certain ammount of slippage taking place between the two. I have attempted to improve the contact pressure between the two with some additional foam rubber spacers on the bottom of the housing which seems to improve things a little.

I would imagine that over time the small amounts of slippage that occur will cause the actuating grommet to wear and increase the slippage.

My concerns were referred to the designers / manufacturers through the local agent for the camera set. The reply was that under pressure the actuating gear will excert more pressure on the mode selector and increase the contact pressure. I found that there is hardly any vertical play in the actuator mechanism for this to happen and I did not notice any improvement in contact pressure at depth.

The agent sent me another camera set, however the same defect was evident.

Does anyone else out there with more experience with this camera have the experience. ? Is this a design floor ?
