Strength:

Great price.
Easy to use.
Excellent post editing options.
Help in learning.

Weakness:

Can be slow on memory short computers (4GB RAM minimum recommended).
The Organizer is not very user friendly in my opinion.

I am now using Elements 10, having had Elements 6 for a couple of years before that. This review is primarily aimed at Elements 10, but if you have an older copy on your computer, it will equally apply to that.
I am not an expert and indeed am not a big fan of doing lots of post processing, but this software really does cater for all types. Be you an enthusiastic processor, or simply want to do minor tweeks to your images, this will do it for you.
It is not intended for use by professionals, there are other software packages for them, but for amateurs of all levels it is a cracker. It is very easy to use, but when you open the interface, it does look a little daunting. Open a photo and take some time to look at all the features. You will notice that towards the top right there are three choices. ?'Full', 'Guided' or 'Quick'
For beginners, click on 'Quick'. You will now see various options, all with auto features for you. Here you can automatically fix lighting, colour, balance or sharpness of your image. You can simply click 'Smart fix' to allow the program to do what it thinks is right and even adjust how much fix to apply using the slider. If you are not happy with the results you just click on the 'undo button' to go back one level.
On the left of the screen are more options for fixing things like red eye, whitening teeth, cropping etc. Using these tools, you really can improve your pictures with no effort at all.
Should you want to go a little further, click on the 'Guided' button. Here you choose from the extensive list of things you want to do. the program automatically opens the right tool for the right job. It also gives you detailed instructions on what to do, so not only is it doing the job for you, but you are learning as you go. there is no point in going through all the options here as there are too many, suffice to say, that you really can improve your shots, using this section.
If you select the 'Full' button, you move to the full editing interface, which is more complex. Here you can select the set up that you prefer, so the page looks the way you want it. Here you can create different layers and work on selected areas of an image, but if you are doing this, you already have a fair amount of knowledge so there is no need for me to talk about them here.
There is also a very useful 'help section to get you through should you get stuck.

All in all, Elements 10 is a superb product. Much cheaper than it's big brothers, but offers an incredible array of options making it equally suitable for the first time user, or the experienced post processor alike.
