Review 1 of 14

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

Great film for cross-processing. Rate as-is and the lab will do the rest. My lab push processes it a little. Some people recommend to over expose at least one stop and process as a 100ISO in C41 if too constrasty. Prints should be done on a Fuji "Frontier" lab, not Agfa or Kodak. Prints come out saturated, grainy, and contrasty.

Strengths:

Excellent cross-processing film with no colour-cast. Many other films have a strong green or pink tint when cross-processed - this film does not.

Weaknesses:

Slide film is very expensive!!! I wish it were a faster film - RSX 200 (the best film for cross processing I am told) is sadly no longer available. Can be a little unforgiving, so will need a good lab to do the prints as manual exposure correction may be needed.

Review 3 of 14

Price Paid:  $7.00 from Joe's Basement

Summary:

I was unhappy with the quality of most E6 films when cross processing (E6 processed as C41). That was until I tried this fantastic emulsion on the recommendation of a pro friend.

Strengths:

When x-processed RSX II gives fantastic over the top punchy colours yet the skintones remain warm and creamy. You have to try this film to believe how good it is for fashion and glamour work.

Weaknesses:

Expensive in UK. Don't know about its capability when processed normally.

Similar Products Used:

In the past I've tried cross-processing most Kodak and all Fuji slide films to try and get a decent result and always been unhappy with the skintones and various colour casts.

Review 4 of 14

Price Paid:  $6.00 from Photographic solutio

Summary:

This is a nice middle ground slide film, I''ve used E200 before and this film stood out, nice saturated colours and reasonable grain. This film likes to be underexposed a little to really make colour jump out. This isn''t Provia but it''s cheaper.

Strengths:

nice colour saturation , acceptable grain.

Weaknesses:

hard to find, does not like over exposure.

Similar Products Used:

E200, RSX 50 and Provia 100

Customer Service:

not needed

Review 5 of 14

Price Paid:  $6.00 from B&H

Summary:

Good all-purpose film for many different lighting conditions. Not "too much" of anything.

Strengths:

"Neutral but vibrant" covers it. Has a nice realistic look to it.

Weaknesses:

Hard to find. A little grainy for 100 speed film.

Similar Products Used:

Fuji Provia, Velvia, Kodachrome, Ektachrome, etc.
