Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $279.00 from B&H

Summary:

I am very pleased with this product. I had to shoot a wedding and carried this product along with me. I was able to hand off CF cards to an assistant and she burned CD's while I continued to fire away. CD's burned in about 11 minutes and allowed spanning.

Strengths:

Simple to use. 11 minutes - Secure transfer where info is checked against CF card. Extremely fast. Ability to plug into a TV and play CD's, DVD's, and MP3's right through the TV. This makes it handy to carry on vacation for both work and play.

Weaknesses:

Doesn't show RAW images from CF - and if you're not paying attention you keep clicking the eject button when you try to close the door.

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $270.00 from photo show

Summary:

A moron could operate this device. For professional photographers on short-notice or short-duration assignments, it means not having to lug a laptop.

Strengths:

Pull the flashcard out of your camera, plug it into the Disk Steno, push the button and wait a few minutes. That's it. The information is transferred automatically to the CD-R or CD-RW.

Weaknesses:

Flimsy AC power cord. Wish the battery-pack was instead a cartridge that allowed AA batteries.

Customer Service:

Just bought it.
