Review 2 of 29

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

Similar Products Used:

EOS 17-40, esto si es un gran objetivo, menudo cambio!!! Caro pero merece la pena.

Review 3 of 29

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

I notice that the 28-90mm USM lense is taking alot of flack. As a general purpose lense it is fine. I am a travel photographer and tend to take this lense on the road because of its light weight, near silent and extremely fast auto focus system. Granted, the focus ring is annoying especially when a polerizer filter is attached but this is no great problem. For those who enjoy photography as a hobby, this lense is more than ideal and is superior to other lenses in the same price bracket!!!

Strengths:

Accurate and extremely quick auto-focus. Light-weight. Cost.

Weaknesses:

Rotating front elemant. Flare (this is a problem with alot of lenses though).

Canon EF 50mm 1.8 Canon EF 80-200mm 4.5-5.6 Sigma 24-70 3.5-5.6

Review 4 of 29

Price Paid:  $0.00 from Dixons

Summary:

As a light lens to keep on the camera most of the time this lens is great. I also have an EOS 1000 (v. light) and with this lens on it you have an acceptable lightweight SLR that takes some great shots. Not a lens for the serious shots for anyone who wants a lightweight slr kit handy at all times (as most good photographers would...) then this is the perfect lens.

Strengths:

Light Cheap (no great loss iff you bounce it off a rock while hiking) Reasonably fast focusing Zoom covers day to day needs

Weaknesses:

Light (cos it is plastic) Not as sharp as some of canons other lenses (and I don't mean the primes)

Similar Products Used:

Canon 100-300 F4.5-5.6 Sigma 28-105 F2.8-4 Cosina 19-35 F3.5-4.5 Canon 35-135 F3.5-4.5 Eos 33 Eos 1000 (+FN) Eos 650

Customer Service:

Not used, although a friend had one repaired by canon UK and it was sorted in a week.

Review 5 of 29

Price Paid:  $116.00 from Alan Photo

Summary:

I have this same lens. Some reviews of it stating that it comes as a bundle may be the non USM version. This is a pretty decent lens. Not a good one but good lenses dont come at this price. Pictures are sharp. There may be some issues with flare(at 28mm and at open shots of scenery facing the sun), but I wasnt using a lens hood. :) It feels plasticy and hunts at low light but besides that it performs fine. Focusing ring can be better but the similar Nikon lens also comes with this same silly type of focusing ring. Lastly, I have just developed photos taken with this lens and am pretty impressed. No complains except for the one I mentioned earlier(flare?).

Strengths:

Cheap Silent Sharp enough pictures. AF is pretty fast in general use.

Weaknesses:

For the price cant complain much. :) Focusing ring can be better The flare(?) I was mentioning about.
