from Best Buy Model Reviewed: Canon CanoScan LiDE 30 Summary: I purschased my Canon LiDE 30 at Best Buy. It was selling for $79.00 and was the best deal i could find from 3 stores around my area. The scanner has many diffrent scanning reslutions, from 75- 1200 dpi. It uses a USB 1.1 interface and the power and data are on one cord. The three buttons on the front can be programmend to work with a certain program. I have a crappy printer (for photo printing, anyway), so i changed the copy button to the scanners OCR. The case this thing is in is slim and lightweight. Its about a inch thick and weighs a little shy of 3.5 pounds. I found the packeged software so-so, even though i never has a scanner or photo-editing software before, it works fine for most light scanned photo editing. It uses a red green and blue LED instead of the conventional photo-receptors, which makes the LiDE 30 much thinner than some comparable scanners. Overall, this is a good deal for the money. Strengths: - Astecitally pleasing design
- Easy to use
- Great price
- High quailty scans
- Z-Lid, for scanning thick media Weaknesses: - Slow.... (Because of USB 1.1 interface) Similar Products Used: (none)
