Strength:

great motion pictures
zoom worked great
color good
flash was wonderful

Weakness:

none

I bought my Z115 Canon back in mid 90's it has been the best camera I have ever owned for an instamatic. At 100 km my son 9 at the time snapped a picture of a road side market and the picture was as if we were standing in front of it.
I found it great for motion pictures. I say found because I let myfriends daughter use it and she cracked the case where the batteries go and I have been fighting with it ever since. If I could find the exact same one I would buy it again, unless they have improved on it.

Customer Service

Strength:

Clear pictures.

Weakness:

Lack of good color -- everything is always washed out.

I HATE this camera. It has the worst color I have ever seen. It washes out everyone and everything. I am desperately searching for another one.

Weakness:

zoom lens too slow( all the snap shot camera does same) flash too weak

I have 2 this model camera for myself, I also bought another, one for my mom, one for my friend (pro photographer). I feel is great camera. You cann't find any other snap shot camera has 1/1000 shutter. Also I usually shoot chrome, this camera can get right exposure (under normal case). I read one review talk about date stamp, I think he maybe use 35mm SLR a lot, that's why he doesn't get use to. I bought my fist z115 when it just came out, I have no more than 10 picture pepple with red eye, I guess some people have lot red eye problem because they forget that snap shot camera buldin flash only can reach 10 ft to 15 ft. Overall this is great camera, even some new model (2002) can not beat it.

Strength:

Light, Compact, fast AF

Weakness:

Red Eye was present in almost every flash photograph

I have used this camera for about 6 years. Never had mechanical problems. However, I can not recommend this camera because Red Eye is present despite the Red-Eye Reduction mode.

Strength:

Sharp pictures, easy to use.

Weakness:

Zooming mechanism failed after 8 months.

Decent camera but I cannot recommend Canon due to poor reliability. This camera ws a replacement for the Canon 105 QD which is a piece of junk. The camera worked well overall. Some minor annoyances include: the date stamp is too much into the frame instead of the usual lower right corner, and the AF infrared receiver below the flash is too easy to be covered up by one''s finger. The worst thing about this camera is reliability. The zooming mechanism started failing after just 8 months. The zoom lens just wouldn''t catch right and you have to turn the camera on and off to force the lens to retract before the parts snaps back in place. Sent the camera in for repairs and the diagnosis was the baterry cover was defective. What does that have to do with the zoom mechanism not operating correctly? Needless to say, the problem subsided for awhile and started again after the 6 month repair warranty. I will not buy another Canon camera ever

Customer Service

I found their diagnosis hard to believe. They blamed the zooming problem on the battery cover.

Strength:

The Z115 WAS very versatile. The photogaohs came out well. The zoom covered most situations and provided good prints at all focal lengths.

Weakness:

Broke once, paid $100 to fix. Broke twice, time for a new camera, probably not a Canon. Inferior red eye control.

Nice camera, poor reliability. It performed very well, but I cannot recommend it. I would consider it's big brother, the Z135, suspect.

Strength:

Camera is solid and doesn't have a cheap feel that some other p/s cameras have. Zoom range is sufficient for most situations. Lens is pretty decent and faster than other models with same zoom range.

Weakness:

Red eye from flash is almost always apparent regardless of red eye reduction mode. Auto focus not always on the mark.

Better than average p/s camera.

Strength:

Great zoom camera. The 7 different auto settings are great. Definitely need highr speed film though to get better pictures.

Weakness:

After 2 years it stopped working. Just stopped. An "e" error came up on the LCD, reapiar would cost $150. Might as well buy a new one...but will it be Canon this time?

Nice camera...if it lasted.

Strength:

Compact and easy to use.

Weakness:

Red eye reduction. Indoor photos.

I have used my Z115 several times a week for three years. No problems. It takes excellent daytime photos. Flash photos are good if you have enough lighting. It is a great camera for casual use. I would buy another Canon Z135 or 120.
