from Camera World online Summary: Decent camera but I cannot recommend Canon due to poor reliability. This
camera ws a replacement for the Canon 105 QD which is a piece of junk. The
camera worked well overall. Some minor annoyances include: the date stamp
is too much into the frame instead of the usual lower right corner, and the AF
infrared receiver below the flash is too easy to be covered up by one''s finger. The
worst thing about this camera is reliability. The zooming mechanism started failing after just 8 months.
The zoom lens just wouldn''t catch right and you have to turn the camera on and off to
force the lens to retract before the parts snaps back in place. Sent the
camera in for repairs and the diagnosis was the baterry cover was defective.
What does that have to do with the zoom mechanism not operating correctly? Needless to
say, the problem subsided for awhile and started again after the 6 month repair warranty. I will
not buy another Canon camera ever Strengths: Sharp pictures, easy to use. Weaknesses: Zooming mechanism failed after 8 months. Similar Products Used: Pentax IQ70, Ricoh, Canon 105 QD Customer Service: I found their diagnosis hard to believe. They blamed the zooming problem on the battery cover.
