Summary: This is a good camera, easy to use. Customer service leaves much to be desired, but that is no fault of the camera. For the resolution, the images are great. The features it does have are nice. I do think that this camera is a little pricey, but it's served me well for the last 3 years. (I bought mine at $329.00 which nowadays, you can buy much more camera for the same price)
(Note about picture: This picture was taken 2 years ago in the Nevada desert at Burning Man. It was 122 degrees F during the day, (hence the harsh light)...I suppose in hindsight I could've used the daylight filter, but I wasn't thinkin'...I just snapped the picture..hehe, and you can always edit the lighting in photoshop, or something similar... Strengths: High shot capacity (96)
Ease of use
Easy to follow menus
Can few multiple images in playback mode through tiling.
Nice software bundling Weaknesses: Serial Cable downloads
Low res photos (320x240)
Lack of user support from Casio
cumbersome Twain drivers
proprietary .CAM format Similar Products Used: Sony Mavica (still and mpeg cameras)
Kodak (forget model number)
Various other digitals
Customer Service: Casio's customer service absolutely SUCKS. My Twain driver disk got corrupted somehow, and tried to find a download link on Casio's website to download it again, or find an updated driver. No success.
I called their Customer "service" line, they hung up on my 4 times. When I finally got ahold of someone that knew what I was talking about, they said, "Well if your camera is still under warrenty we can send you a new driver, otherwise you'll have to buy the software package" (which at that time was $69)...needless to say, for that very reason, and their lack of wanting to help their customers to make sure they KEEP them as customers makes me want to never buy another Casio product again. (and I haven't since then). Luckily I knew someone that had the identical camera, and I copied the driver from them, because without the twain driver, the camera is useless and I refuse to but something twice. Casio should've had a driver download, as this is the industry standard.
