Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $950.00 from ebay and elinchrom g

Summary:

Cheeerioh, what a light. I just bought twice: first two 250s and a few days later a 500 for using a big softbox. And it works great. Best light I've ever used because of its brightness an the stability of color temperature.

Strengths:

Real swiss quality, not to be jugded with asian plastic monolights or german multiblitz...

Weaknesses:

Expensive accessories. And i wished to have better light stands in the set.

Similar Products Used:

Multiblitz Minilites 200 Ws, Electra 150Ws

Customer Service:

Never needed

Review 2 of 4

Price Paid:  $950.00 from EBAY

Summary:

WOW! The quality of light coming from the EL's is nothing short of awesome! I bought 4 for general use on the side, and have found that these can be used in nearly ANY situation. While the 500 watt rating on the EL500's may seem low compared to a White Lightning 1800, the EL's are noticeably brighter. Even the 250's are brighter than the Dynalite 400's. Remember, WS is a measure of INPUT power, not output. The EL's are incredibly efficient. Borrow some, rent some, and you'll agreee. For the price point, you can't get anything better. And for sports? Even without the "R" models (ultrafast duration), they freeze action far better than even the industry standard Speedo 2401's.

Strengths:

Bright Fast Unlimited accesories Swiss quality - you'll know when you hold one that it's a very very very well designed product. Can be found CHEAP these days

Weaknesses:

Expensive accesories

Similar Products Used:

Speedo Force 10's (cheap, heavy crap in comparison) Dynalite Uni400jr - nowhere near the output

Customer Service:

haven't needed any, even on my used lights

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

Ihave owned Elinchroms for 6 months but have been using them for 5 years. They are easy to use and reliable. I don''t know anyone who doesn''t like and trust them. I have 2 EL500''s and have just ordered an EL250 before they stop production. They are not easy to find new.

Strengths:

Size, weight, durability, cost. ease of use.

Weaknesses:

I haven''t come across any yet

Similar Products Used:

Bowens

Review 4 of 4

Price Paid:  $670.00 from B&H Photo

Summary:

These lights are design for professional's. They travel well and like that TV bunny, keep going and going. I started with one, and now have five.

Strengths:

Quality of light/Controls/Slave switch/Reflector mounting ease/150watt proportional modelling lamp/4-stop variable range/Overall design

Weaknesses:

Weight (with professional stands, no problem)

Similar Products Used:

Profoto & Buff

Customer Service:

One of the best around!
