from Store Summary: Great piece of equipment! This was my first Digital and it lived up to my expectations. I took this thing everywhere and subjected it to mass abuse. It withstood the spray of the open ocean, a fall through a 4 foot snow bank
after which it broke open and filled with snow, many drops and even beer spillage.
It finally succumbed to a total submersion in Pistol Pete's Pool compliments of Hot Tub Dave. If you are looking for a digital that you know will get abused, this is it. If you need a low megapixel camera that takes quality pictures, this is still your camera. I blew up a photo taken of Air Force One to an 8 x 11 and it looks great.
For a sample, see the tree frog photo under the galleries/wildlife section of the main webpage. Strengths: Sturdy metal body, compact, lightweight, and contrary to what most people say - very long battery life. I pack two lithium ion batteries during my 3 day backpack trips and seldom do I need the backup. Just be smart with power consumption; take pictures with viewfinder and limit your LCD reviews.
I ususally review all of them once or twice in a quick manner. Also, the LCD is exceptional for this aging camera. The camera doesn't require a bulky recharger so the entire package can easily be carried in a small camera bag, charger and all. Weaknesses: Three weaknesses: 1) Poor flash. Indoor photography under low light conditions should be within 6-FT. 2) Not Hot Tub Dave Proof (i.e., not waterproof)
3) No USB port, only serial. I bought a USB card reader so problem solved. Similar Products Used: Sony, Cannon Customer Service: Had to use once right after camera was purchased. The lens cover began to improperly open and close on the last day of my Honeymoon. The turn around time was reasonable and the problem was solved.
