Summary: I love this camera. I take tons of pictures of kids at school for the newspaper, and believe me I have had tons of them in there. In fact, I went fishing and caught about 20 crappie, had wife take a picture at 1.3 and sent it in with a cutline. The picture turned up on front page looking beautiful. I had tons of friends who hated my guts for that picture. No, I did not give them any fillets. Get this, the camera does a good job of taking fast action pictures. Press the button down and hold before the picture comes up that you want to take. Then just as the action comes by, press the button. Hey, it is a digital. Take lots of pictures. Throw the ones away that didn''t work and keep the ones that did. Bought a 5000 Kodak, specifically for fast action since one of the pictures they had on their site was an action picture. The Fuji is more reliable. By now, you can get this camer for 171 on overstock com. Go for it.
Strengths: Light and takes good pictures. Don''t use the preview screen and the nickel 2 AA batteries will last a half a basketball game.
Weaknesses: Read eye is horrible, but black and white news paper it is fine. The darn lense cover is a mistake. After a half year of use, the contacts quit. Sent to the company and they fixed. When you are in the school business, anything can happen and most of them bad. I dropped the camera after I got it back and the door didn''t work. So I simply taped the lense door open. The lense door serves no practical purpose since the camera shuts down anyway. Always use a long leash that you can put around your neck and solve the dropping problem. I love this camera and wouldn''t trade it.

Customer Service: Back in no time. Still looking for that perfect medium priced camera that does great stop action everytime.
Summary: For my purpose: Pictures (many macros) for the web, snapshots in <= 5x7 print size this camera fulfills my needs. I have however only been able to enjoy and apreciate the camera for a few weeks out of the 4 months I had it. First the reader for the SmartMedia card broke down so the camera signallerd card error all the time. When I got it back the zoom mechanism failed so the camera would neither zoom nor focus.
Strengths: Easy to use. Good lens. Best picture quality in its megapixel range.
Weaknesses: Does not seem to be "sturdy". If it breaks again i may toss it!

Customer Service: Slooooooooooowwwwwwww. At least when fixing and returning. Receipt when they receive the camera comes fairly quick (OK 2 weeks).

Summary: Great camera - easy to use, takes good, clear, high quality images even in low light. I was able to take the camera out of the box and start taking pictures immediately without reading the manual. The USB cables downloads the pictures extremely fast. I use Win98 SE and have no trouble with my USB port, although I read another review that said it didn''t work. I use the camera on a daily basis to take pics of my daughter and email them to family and I couldn''t be more pleased. The pictures print out near 35mm quality when I use an online printing service.
Strengths: Ability to zoom in on the view screen, "macro" function allows pictures super close up with clear detail, night setting allows for good pics at night, particulary skyline shots
Weaknesses: Red eye doesn''t work that great, the Exif launcher software isn''t the best but it does the job. You need an additional program to fix red eye properly and touch up pics if needed.

Summary: My first digi camera and its great, at 1.3 Megapixels its enough for true photo quality photos, and im not joking and i mean thats with the picture size halved to 640x480 to be printed.
Strengths: Optical zoom, macro, red eye reduction, self timer, auto shut down, USB cable
Weaknesses: battery door tabs look like they may break easy
Summary: i''ve had this camera for almost a year now and i''ve taken it on with me on overseas trips, as well as photography trips in my local area. it''s battery life is good on 1600mAmp NM-Hi rechargable batteries. having the LCD on constantly is the only thing that drains them quickly, and even then it takes about 30 minutes with these batteries. autofocus works just fine, but without a flash on, it''s incredibly hard to take a clean photo without setting the camera down on a flat surface, using the delayed shutter setting, and putting it down before it snaps the shot. i''ve never dropped this camera, but it was appartnely shuffled around in my luggage on one of my trips (though it WAS in the carrying case i bought seperately), and the lensecover now has a problem staying open. usually it makes a clicking noise with it''s pushed open all the way, and requires some amount of pressure to close it, but now there is no clicking noise, and the lense tries to slide shut at the slightest bump, turning off the camera when it does so. for a 1.4MP camera the photo quality is decent, however at night there is terrible ''dark noise'' unless you use a flash, which ruins the effect of it being night completely. the other complaint i have is that the lense makes a convex curve to the photos it takes. for example, if you take a picture of a brick wall, and the walla spans the entire width of the photo, the horozintal lines of the bricks will be curved slightly, not straight. it''s sort of an involuntary fish-eye effect. i''ve not found any practical use for the manual whitepoint settings or other manual settings.
Strengths: ease of use
Weaknesses: functional reliability on the lense cover being 100% open
