Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
This is a great beginner camera. It is very easy to use, and reasonable. The higher resolution pictures are very nice, and you get quite alot of features for the price.

Strengths:
Clear images, ease of use, number of options, low price.

Weaknesses:
Close-up photos almost always blurry, does not like some SmartMedia cards.

Price Paid:  $0.00 from Staples XP Deal

Summary:
First digi camera. Was very close to buying a $330 camera, but then came across this deal. Free with XP at Staples. Very good photos with good light and when using the flash with no light. After using the Fuji, buying a $330 camera would be overkill.

Strengths:
Manual mode, USB, easy to use, very clean photos in light and no light, and more.

Weaknesses:
No optical zoom.

Review 3 of 31

Price Paid:  $140.00 from Gibralter

Summary:
I bought my Fuji Finepix 1300 in Gibralter for £140. I am very pleased with my purchase and have been very impressed with both the quality of the photos/colours and the ease of use with both the camera and the downloading of pics to my Mac. My only negatives are the lack of software for Macintosh on the CD and the lack of a protective case.

Strengths:
Takes great photos, Handles Colours superbly, Easy to use,

Weaknesses:
Short Battery Life when in LCD mode, Lack of software on CD for Macintosh, No Case supplied for camera.

Review 4 of 31

Price Paid:  $199.00 from Argos, Newry

Summary:
Having a budget of c.£200 I examined all the products on the market, by way of internet and camera magizines. This was my choice-and to date I''ve no regrets. At £5 to develop 24 non-digital photos, costs can mount. Since acquiring this camera 5 months ago I''ve over 1,200 photos on file - it''s being used! I know two professional press photographers, who between them would easily have £50,000 in camera equipment. Both of them have been very impressed by the results of this camera. It''s even better when my £200 camera has features not available on the £8000 models!! In conclusion, amyone on a limited budget of c.£200 - buy one.

Strengths:
Compact size. Range of features. Excellent flash. Automatic rename feature on software which names photo, by date, to the nearest second. Ability to examine details of photos taken (eg. shutter speeds/appeture, etc) when downloaded to PC. Speed on download via USB port-less than 10 secs. for 90 low-resolution shots. Zoom and pan features on LCD.

Weaknesses:
Lens positioning-very easy to dirty. Battery consumption while using LCD screen-best to buy rechargable ones. Occasional change to macro setting followed by series of blurred distant shots-some warning would be helpful.
