from Kmart Summary: Bought as a film camera snapshot backup. I have ended carrying it most of the time, in case a photo opportunity arises. I'm amazed at the image quality it delivers. The skies usually look somewhat washed but could easily be fixed with the bundled software. In spite of the listed shortcomings, the FinePix 2300 is a real good value for its price. I do highly recommend it to anyone wishing to enter the digital photgraphy field; you won't be dissapointed. Strengths: - Amazing image quality
- Hardly any noise on dark areas
- Takes common AA batteries
- Very low battery comsumption
- Takes SmartCards
- No digital zoom at maximum resolution
- Light weight
- Excellent value for its price
- Excellent bundled software, both Fuji's FinePix Viewer and Ulead's PhotoImpact (the latter is very, very good)
- Ease of use Weaknesses: - Cannot adjust for light source in Auto Mode
- Self-timer available in Auto Mode only
- Frequent lens flare when shooting with flash
- Somewhat unsharp LCD screen
- Focus range gap (macro: 8-15cm, normal: 80cm-8)
- Cannot tell frame edges when looking through viewfinder
- Not a real-image viewfinder
- Not pocketable Similar Products Used: Polaroid Fun! Flash 640
