Price Paid:  $230.00 from Cord Camera

Summary:
I picked this camera up because I wanted a compact, AA battery powered, 5mp, 28-91mm (35mm equivalent) digital camera. It has been pretty good but the lens is not quite as sharp as the Nikon 4500's lens (the Nikon crapped out on me on vacation). Yes, I torched Nikon for not fixing it gratis even though it was out of warranty-not very many shots on it). I like the Fuji 510 but it definitely has "purple fringing". Definitely. It only shows up in my shots in outdoor photos w/tree branches and strong light. I can shoot trees away from strong light and there's not a problem. When I use the +5X magnification on my editing software to preview shots the purple fringing is absolutely there. I am not going to mislead anyone about that anomoly. I read several people's comments elsewhere who swore that there was no fringing w/this camera. If software can fix it, heck it's a good buy!

Strengths:
Size-great for women to use and good for carry/pocket camera. Like the film equivalent of 28mm lens.

Weaknesses:
PURPLE FRINGING BUT ONLY IF YOU ARE POINTED TOWARD A STRONG LIGHT SOURCE.

Similar Products Used:
Nikon 4500 (Crappy customer/warranty service). Great results for the "limited" time it was up and running.

Customer Service:
NONE NEEDED W/FUJI* SO FAR. *DON'T COUNT ON NIKON. I read where Nikon's profits tripled lately. Conversely I would venture that their attention to the vaunted Nikon name has slid proportionally in relation to that profitability.
