from future shop Summary: I concur with the previous review, I have just brought this Fujifilm J50home and am sorely disappointed. It's been at least 6 years since I last purchased a digital camera and was shocked at how pooly this camera performs in comparison with my old camera. I was looking for something small and lower on the price scale, but i wasn't willing to compromise quality... and one would think the quality i'm used to, using a 6 year old camera, wouldn't leave the bar that high, but this measly piece of junk failed to even compare with a chunky, heavy, slow 4 megapixel Minolta Dimage s414!!! It is an embarrasement.
I haven't taken a good picture with it yet, the macro function is a joke, as any other setting will take better close-up pictures. I also think the array of settings available just mimick one another, and provide no real difference between one another. The pictures are grainy and off-colour, and the focus mechanism may as well be set on perma-blurry.
Word to the wise: Spend your money on anything but this camera, better using a relic than see what 6 years of technological advancement hasn't done! Strengths: iI hasn't fallen apart yet (in the few hours i've been testing it), and comes with two batteries, which charge quickly and don't drain too fast. It wasn't hugely expensive either. Weaknesses: all listed in review. and many more not mentioned. Customer Service: very good, the lad at future shop was very helpful and kind, and I'm sorry he sent me home with a piece of garbage.
