from 7dayshop Summary: I love this film!! Yeah, sure its not as saturated as EBX or Velvia. Sure its great for a 400 film but not as good as a 100 film. Sure its a teeny bit dodgy for some skin tones. BUT for the average non-pro photographer who doesn't have all day to wander about setting up equipment, or cannot afford to carry around a crate full of different films, or who doesn't put every slide under a microscope to measure grain size this film is ideal. I have a busy job and an 18month old daughter - a dangerous combo when trying to find time to get out with my cameras and this film allows me to take nicely coloured, sharp, decently contrasted shots HANDHELD (and believe me, all of you anally retentive "no tripod = poor photographer" types this can make a BIG difference to many of us). I use a Scan Dual scanner and with a small amount of level work and unsharp masking get very satisfactory results digitally. Strengths: A genuinely usable film for the UK - nice colours, contrast and range. If I had to use just ONE film this would be it. For many like me who sometimes find ourselves having to take photos against the clock this film is PERFECT! It's a real pity that there isn't a box on this review site that's labelled "image quality & usability when in a rush" - no other film would come close! Weaknesses: Poor density when compared to say Velvia or EBX on a lightbox (but then there's got to be a compromise somewhere). Similar Products Used: Loads Customer Service: never needed
