Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $100.00 from Office Depot

Summary:

This is a great little camera! I have taken over 500 pictures with this camera over the last year and have been very pleased with the results. I took it on vacation to Yellowstone and was able to get some very good pictures. It is a simple camera to use, turn it on and shoot. It is a 2.1 MP camera so it will produce nice 8x10 prints if you have them printed. I mainly use mine to take pictures of my two year old. This is a good camera for someone who is wanting to get started with using a digital camera and wants to see the capabilities of digital. I personally am giving up my film cameras in favor of digital after using this camera. One of the beauties of digital is that you don't have to print all the pictures and if you have kids this is very important because they will want to take pictures too. This is good camera for kids as well because it is easy to use, they can fill up the memory and you simply print the good pictures (if you want to). It does not have an optical zoom, it has a digital zoom but that is basically cropping the picture for you so I never use it. The lack of optical zoom helps keep the price down.

Strengths:

Small enough to fit in a pocket. 2.1 MegaPixel so it will print 8x10s.

Weaknesses:

No optical zoom (you get what you pay for) The flash is too close to the lens, so you get red eye. If you use the LCD viewer it really uses up the batteries (use the viewfinder if possible).
