Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

Reliable, but limited features and only fair-quality images make this an "OK" camera.

Strengths:

Reliability. Good battery life (when not using the LCD screen). Easy to use for beginners.

Weaknesses:

Short battery life when using LCD screen. Poor auto-focusing. Often focuses on things other than the main subject. Mode selection buttons tiny, and recessed, with no tactile feedback. Very difficult to press. SLOW response. Camera takes about 2 seconds to shoot after pressing the shutter button. Also takes far too long between shots -- more than 5 seconds.

Price Paid:  $50.00 from ebay

Summary:

Nice camera for the price. Don't care to use the software, that's why I bought through eBay, only camera, no accessories. Before had C20, still works, but thought I'd try the zoom. Medium and highest pixel settings are same quality, just uses more memory.

Strengths:

Tough built. Eay to use.

Weaknesses:

Have to turn on display to change zoom

Review 3 of 43

Summary:

Easy to use, nice beginner's camera, except I would recommend an Olympus D-340, or other model camera which sales for the same price range and produces better quality images. Sometimes you can get great quality images, but the lighting needs to be just right and the object needs to be still. You will not want this camera if you are trying to show detail on small objects like a CPU or Memory chip. I believe HP makes great printers, but I would give them a poor grade with this camera.

Strengths:

Easy to use, ok beginner's camera.

Weaknesses:

Poor quality images compared to similiar priced cameras. Long pause when writing images to compact flash.

Olympus D-340 Kodak DC265

Summary:

Great camera for a bargain price. I just don´t seem to like the colours it reproduces! The reds are often VERY red and many pictures have a tone of blue all over it.A picture of a woman in a dark green coat changed the coat to brown! Is that normal?

Strengths:

Price.

Weaknesses:

Picture not sharp enough, the red items turn VERY red, no carrying case or power supply

Customer Service:

No

Review 5 of 43

Summary:

For the price, the camera takes good shots...Some situations need special attention (like exposure settings, etc...) Recommend getting the lens adapter and UV-filter...Will improve picture quality around flourescent lights and on snowy days greatly. Wish it came with an AC hookup and USB though.. Recommended for beginners and intermediate users who want an easy-to-use camera that allows some adjestments if needed and that doesn't have $500-1000 to spend on a digital camera. The quality on this is about the same as a $50-75 Kodak entry-level APS.

Strengths:

Picture quality, price

Weaknesses:

Serial upload link is slow and eats batteries if it isn't plugged into an AC adaptor during transfer.
