Review 1 of 11

Summary:

I like this camera a lot. The photos it takes are outstanding. The color is excellent. This sharpness , detail and contrast are very good. I have even captured some action shots with my DC200 that surprised me they came out. Everyone I have shown my photos to is impressed. I have never taken as many photos with a film camera as I do with the digital camera. Even my wife like to use it at school to take pictures of her students.

Strengths:

Excellent picture quality, ease of use, nice menu system on LCD display on back.

Weaknesses:

LCD in bad position. Gets a lot of nose prints when you look through the camera's viewfinder. Battery life could be better. Shutter button and On/Off switches should be located in different places. Easy to turn camera off when you think your finger is on the shutter button and its on the On/Off switch

Review 2 of 11

Summary:

I have just bought DC 200 Plus 3 week ago. It has been working pretty good during the last 2 weeks of usage, but for some reason, the camera suddenly begin to make low quality pictures: the pictures (taken both indoor/outdoors) taken are blur. You can notice "stream of water" on people's faces. Background is blur also. Tried with different Flash Card, the problem is still there. The software comes with look "friendly" but it's quality is not satisfactory. I have just returned it. I tried to have a replacement but no one available.

Strengths:

Solid look camera body.

Weaknesses:

1. Low quality images. Images became worse at low resolution. 2. Noticable "fog" on the insdie lance. No way to clean it. 3. "No string attached" lance cover. 4.

Customer Service:

Called the number on the instruction book and guess what: No service center in Californai !? I was told to mail it back to New York if I want it to be repared ! I returned it to the shop where I bought it.

Review 3 of 11

Summary:

I've only used my camera for a little over a month. I got a pretty good deal on a refurbished model at egghead.com auction. It came with a year warranty from Kodak. Kodak also has a good website with advice on use, updated drivers, etc. I have not used the software that came with the camera, nor the cables etc for uploading pictures. For the latter, I purchased a card reader which I really love. Because I use a card reader and only use the lcd for review, I have not yet had to use all the batteries I have been charging. I think this camera is a good "snapshot" camera since it lacks a zoom lens. I have used it mostly for outdoor shots and have had very little experience with it indoors. My outdoor shots have mainly been "snapshoots" of animals/pets and friends. I have found it easy to use and the color is great. With photo-editing software, I'm very pleased with the results. I have only used it at the highest resolution and bought a 32 mb flash card for storage. It came with a 4 mb card which only holds 6-8 photos. Before purchasing the camera, I had read reviews that although the camera was fixed focused, it produced as good as quality of pictures as its auto-focused competitors. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the photo quality of "snapshot" pictures, which is the use for which I bought it. However, I wouldn't use it to replace my good "traditional" camera with all its expensive lenses, shutter speeds, etc.

Strengths:

Easy to use. Great for snapshots.

Weaknesses:

Delay between photos.

Review 4 of 11

Summary:

If memory serves, this was one of the first MegaPixel cameras around, and I've been quite happy with it overall. I bought a 32MB CF card and an A/C adapter and have been quite pleased with it. 497 640x480 images without having to download (116 1152x884 images) is REALLY nice! Decent picture quality, though the high resolution images sometimes come out a tad fuzzier than I'd expect.

Strengths:

Can be found for a bargain these days. Good overall camera for general picture taking. LCD is able to project an image accurately and allow you to delete bad photos. Timestamp ability and video out were surprising features for this early model.

Weaknesses:

Not for those that like really crisp pictures, or those looking for loads of features. No Windows 2000 support!!

Review 5 of 11

Summary:

This is my first digital camera and for the most part I have been pleased. The ease of use and quality of the photos are quite good. Here are my issues though with the DC200 plus. 1. Lens cap easy to lose, hard to replace.. ( I think everyone with this camera has experienced this one) 2. Outdoor pictures in sunny conditions appear blurry. I don't know why but I can't get consistant quality pictures outdoors with this camera. Indoors it's fabulous but I am never quite satisfied with it's ability to take pictures in bright light conditions. 3. Serial transfer of pictures is SLLOOOWWW. This can be overcome by using a PCMCIA reader adapter. But if you take a lot of pictures and use the serial transfer process you will find it very time consuming.
