Summary:

This camera is not very user friendly . Control buttons spread around . Some not clearly marked and made of rubber with light grey /grey identification. Many times the focus was poor (intermittant problem). resolution on close ups was poor, had to use tripod and then focus was not good. Had to take many shots then select the one with best focus. It had a good appetite for batteries. Very slow recovery time, 10 to 12 seconds between pix.Price was $549 and only 4 mb card was included.

Strengths:

Nice optical Zoom handy function select control carring case provided

Weaknesses:

Very heavy poor battery life Viewfinder placement! (nose usually left smudge on LCD) Buttons not clearly marked power up not rapidly reached. ( Too slow to turn on ) Has focus problem (Intermittant)

Summary:

Overall this camera isn't bad and is pretty easy to use but there are better for the price. Unlike my Fuji MX1200 this one has zoom but in real world use it isn't all that useful and the Fuji cost less and captures better quality images. I was also unimpressed with the software that came with it. Its slow and really eats up my computer's resources. Uploads from this camera are a bit faster than my Fuji however.

Strengths:

Pretty good image quality. Easy to use.

Weaknesses:

Price, whimpy zoom, and bad software.

Similar Products Used:

Fuji MX-1200

Customer Service:

Haven't had to use it.

Summary:

My mother has this camera and uses it for real estate. It is very easy to use and has a decent amount of memory. I do not like the fixed focus of the camera. Its batteries were out pretty quickly when leaving it on between shots. Colors are almost perfect. resolution could be better maybe focussing issue or lack of.

Strengths:

small size, good software, nice color rendition

Weaknesses:

resolution, battery life, small lcd screen

Similar Products Used:

none

Customer Service:

Review 4 of 43

Summary:

This is a very well designed camera which is probably readily available at garage sales all over the world. Grab one if you want a fairly compact camera to throw in your backpack. What this camera does is snap shots when you want them, if you can bare a fairly long startup delay. What it does NOT do is quite a long list: zoom very far, take clean sharp photos, support zoom and macro lenses, have an uncompressed file format, handle external flash, and on and on. In addition to dealing with all the minuses of the camera, I had a problem after upgrading the firmware. The camera stopped working with alkaline batteries. After acknowledging a problem, the support people disappeared, never resolving the problem. (Rechargables continue to work.) I bought this camera based on reviews because it wasn't possible to try the latest cameras in China where I live. (It is still difficult to find the lastest models.) If I had a chance to use it before I bought it, I would have waited for something more convenient or with more features. And of course there is no way to attach a lens cap!

Strengths:

Simple to use.

Weaknesses:

Too many to count.

Similar Products Used:

Olympus C-2020x

Customer Service:

Fair to poor - never resolved a battery problem after "upgrading" firmware to get 210Plus features.
