Price Paid:  $149.00 from ebay

Summary:

This has got to be the best little camera for newbies, and experts alike! It's small, easy to take with you, and easy to use. I take pictures nearly everyday.. either of nature, friends, family.. and pets, or just whatever looks photographic in the moment, and I Always choose This camera to take the pics. The macro on this camera is pretty good, but since I like to get even closer, I bought the lens adapter and some lenses for it... now the possibilities are endless !!

Strengths:

Clear Pictures, zoom, macro, long lasting battery life, COLORS!!.. what other camera comes in the colors of teh rainbow !!!

Weaknesses:

in order to use filters, you have to put a weird little contration on the camera.

Price Paid:  $155.00 from eBay

Summary:

This camera gives you alot of bang, for little money... I recommend it to anyone who wants a GOOD digital Camera, that doesn't want to spend a fortune, yet still get pictures that looks like you have!! I've used this Camera to transfer pictures on a Windows 95c, Windows 98se, and Windows XP... all without any complications You can get this camera in GREAT colors... Pink, Amethyst, Orange, Teal, and Green..... Great camera, with a GREAT look... and it's not a HUGE camera ... so, it fits where any 'normal' 35mm camera fit

Strengths:

Color, Zoom, Speed ...... VERY easy to use, and understand .... pictures are very easy to transfer to your computer

Weaknesses:

none so far!

Similar Products Used:

Review 3 of 7

Summary:

We all want quality Pictures right? But we can't all afford a $1000 camera. This camera has all the options you need at a price you can afford. I bought mine new on ebay for $270. Excellent night pictures with powerful flash. Extraordinary color comes through on pics. Wonderful resolution, especially with macro mode. Also has a 3X zoom, a must for the camera you choose. Easy to transfer photos to the pc, just copy and past. Pc sees camera as a removable drive. You don't need a usb CF reader when you have this camera. This camera also has nice menu options for reviewing and deleting your pics and changing camera settings. Can be a bit confusing to a beginner, but with a little practice you will love this camera for the low price. Excellent clarity and color on all pics I took, day and night with this camera. No complaints here whatsoever. As a bonus, and you some may consider this good or bad, I am neutral on the subject, it does seem to capture a high number of "orbs" on the pictures. You can look up orbs on ghost websites. One pic I took had 17 in it. If orbs are ghosts, this is good. If they are exploding nutrions, this is bad, becuase it might ruin the picture.

Strengths:

Powerful flash Great color 3X zoom excellent macro mode AC adapter please read last sentence in the review.

Weaknesses:

Occasionally the camera gets confused as to the mode it is in, and you have to remove batteries to reboot it. Please read last sentence in review.

Review 5 of 7

Summary:

The Kodak 240i is a good camera overall for everyday use. It doesn't do anything outstanding but it does do most everything well. My main concern is that it only shoots in JPEG format, JPEG takes up less disk space but image clarity will be compromised when compared to a PIC or TIFF formatted image. Because of this I don't recommend this camera if you are looking to use it professionally in graphic design applications. That said the Kodak 240i is no slouch and is great for everyday use, the camera has loads of features and other bells and whistles. The JPEG format is ideal for web applications. I've found the LCD display is a bit grainy and unrefined, but it is in color which is a nice touch. It also comes with a battery charger, AC cord, and an ample 8MB flashcard. Overall this camera wont take any pictures to get you published in National Geographic, but it's great and versatile for everyday use.

Strengths:

Versatile, lots of different features and functions. Color LCD display. USB support. Compatible with both Mac and Windows based systems.

Weaknesses:

LCD display is a bit grainy compared with other cameras such as the Cannon line. Only shoots pictures in JPEG format. Guzzles down batteries.

Similar Products Used:

Cannon Powershot and few other cheaper cameras.
