Review 1 of 7

Price Paid:  $400.00 from CompUSA

Summary:

Great camera. I use it as a replacement for 35mm snapshots. And now I am carrying it as a proofing camera for my medium format film work. No need to carry around a Polaroid back or another meter. The large LCD screen makes viewing the results easy. Easy to use with enough manual overrides to allow me to get the pictures I want. The battery charges in ~3 hours from fully discharged, and takes over 150 pictures on a charge. Great color reproduction. Very good built in flash for such a small package. Some have complained about jpeg compression but for me the pictures can be enlarged to 8.5X11 with results as good as I can get with 35mm.

Strengths:

Ease of use. Long battery life. Great color. Large LCD screen.

Weaknesses:

None that I have found.

Similar Products Used:

Except for this camera I shoot only 6x6 medium format film and 4X5" film.

Customer Service:

Never had to use it.

Review 2 of 7

Price Paid:  $399.00 from Compusa

Summary:

I love the camera and the pictures it takes. I have been extremely pleased with it.

Strengths:

Ease of use. Picture quality.

Weaknesses:

Battery Life. Screen is too small (1.5")

Customer Service:

Not good. If you go to Kodak's website, the problem I have, which is that the screen goes blank and will not take pictures, is a problem that is listed by numerous consumers, but support personel claim they have never heard of the problem????? Kodak will fix the camera, no matter what the problem is for $150, but only guarantee it for a mere 30 days. That does not say much for their service quality.

Review 3 of 7

Price Paid:  $249.00 from Kodak trade-in progr

Summary:

I previously owned a 2 megapixel Kodak camera which I was very happy with. However I wanted the improved resolution for larger photographs. So far, vey happy with the results.

Strengths:

Camera very easy to operate overall. Menu very eay to follow although automatic settings seem to do a greatjob so far. I didn't have to buy a dcking sttion as I already had a battery charge from my old camera and I have a Hewlett Packard photo printer which downloads my pictures very quickly.

Weaknesses:

Battery life is always a problem. Caera should have come with a larger Compact Flash card. At four megapixels you can't get very many pictures with the one supplied.

Similar Products Used:

Kodak DC 265

Customer Service:

Has been great in the past and seems to be continuing to be so.

Review 4 of 7

Price Paid:  $350.00 from Circuit City

Summary:

Very Nice camera. Exceeded my expectations. I believe this is the cheapest 4mp camera on the market and worth every cent!

Strengths:

great camera menus ie: select picture and zoom upto 4x picture preview with a card reader (purchased seperately) u can put your pictures on your computer in SECONDS

Weaknesses:

Battery life is the weakest thing about this camera. You'll need some NIMh rechargable batteries. Do not pay over $350 for this camera. u can find it for $350 or cheaper online

Similar Products Used:

Sony mavica

Customer Service:

Not needed so far.

Review 5 of 7

Price Paid:  $399.00 from dell.com

Summary:

A fairly good camera--great picture quality.

Strengths:

Menus and graphics are well designed and easy to read and understand. Easy to transfer photos to pc using dockign station.

Weaknesses:

The rechragable battery and docking station DO NOT WORK and the rechargable battery will only take a max 15 pictures before the camera shuts down. VERY BAD BATTERY and recharging feature.

Customer Service:

Kodak has "tried" to repair my camera without success. They are Ok to deal with however.
