Price Paid:  $220.00 from sears

Summary:

heyt now,as a sorta beginer photographer, this camera has been great for me,it seems as i learn new techniques, this camera lets you try just about anything a dslr can do for alot less money.

Strengths:

takes clear kodak color images.you have a full range of effects and settings,,does very nice panorama stiched images .the zoom is very cool can magnify to 12x.has a very nice glass german glass lens, that i think is very rare in a camera at this price, also does nice video recording.i have posted some shots on flickr and gotten some good comments.

Weaknesses:

as i said this is a great camera ,but at this price it seems there were some compromises.the sound is very tiny and low in volume, another thing is that for sports shooting you cant do very many frames a second.the camera also is a little small if you have large hands.

Similar Products Used:

i havent really used any simaler cameras, the only others i used were very standard sorta vacation shot cameras,.

Customer Service:

i really have had no reason to use custumer service .but i hear its good.camera has worked flawlessly for 2 years,i have used the kodak software for tranfer and basic editing and found it to work well .

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $279.00 from Staples

Summary:

I purchased this camera for sports shooting, I work at the horse racing tracks in Louisiana and Texas, and take the race horses and jockeys to the starting gates. It takes great stills, but when I take a lot of sports action shots, like racehorses running or warming up, I am able to catch the horse's action very well, but the photos are very, very grainy, I know I should be using a tripod, but a lot of these shots are taken in the saddling paddock, where there is not a lot of movement. But, it is a great camera if not using it for action shots.

Strengths:

Very clear image quallity with still images.

Weaknesses:

Very grainy on action shots.

Customer Service:

Very good live chat line!!

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $250.00 from Target

Summary:

I absolutely love this camera. I mainly use it to document our family memories. It has great zoom and excellent image quality. It has many features to chose from depending on the subject, the light conditions, etc.

It is so easy to use and easy to transfer images to the PC simply by attaching the camera to the PC and it immediately begins transferring without even touching a button.

I also absolutely love the video feature. It is so easy to use and the quality is great. It has become my main video camera and I don't have to lug around a video camera bag and a regular camera. The video quality both indoor and outdoor is great. (The sound quality isn't great when you listen on the camera, but it is good when it is transferred to the PC).

I use this camera every day and I find myself taking it everywhere we go. I thought the size would bother me since there are so many compact options, but I find it easy to wear around my neck even when my family is ice skating or on a field trip.

I used to have a Sony Cyber shot, and I find that I like this camera much better, both in terms of quality and convenience of printing photos. I did not like the Sony memory card that did not fit in the kiosk at Target to print.

The main thing I am impressed with is that the quality and the features are a great value for only $250.00. The zoom distance and mega pixels in other brands were much more expensive. I highly recommend this camera for a mom who wants convenience, easiness to use, great quality, and affordability.

Weaknesses:

Uses batteries quickly. I bought a battery charger and 2 sets of rechargable batteries.

Similar Products Used:

Sony Cybershot (i didn't like it as well as I like the Kodak)
