Price Paid:  $25.00 from eBay : 100 shhets 8"

Summary:

I choose this type of paper because some of my friend told me it would be nice to beging with. I do not know what to compare it with, since it is the only kind I have ever used. Anyway, I am satisfied by it, as printing black and white pictures was not as difficult as I thought it would be.

Strengths:

Dries fast cheap Appeared quite tolerant with my beginner's mistakes (my first "masking" appeared quite nice actually)

Weaknesses:

I have no idea...

Review 2 of 4

Price Paid:  $0.00 from B&H usually

Summary:

My favorite paper. Extremely consistent. A fast but workable speed. Bright whites and deep blacks. I am baffled by the rater who gave this a one as the comments make no sense. Nice cold pure black & white tone. Altough 99% of the time I don't tone, let me add that it looks good toned sepia. However, I had no success with Selenium as it looked way too purple for my taste. Dries flat & never had any problem with longevity. Unlike some papers, Polymax RC II does not allow the user to control the printing density through developing time so I always develop for about a minute. However, the exposure under enlarger gives the user very precise control of print's density.

Strengths:

Comes in many sizes and surfaces. Very consistent box-to-box. Beautiful black and white prints.

Weaknesses:

None

Customer Service:

Excellent data sheets; excellent technical support on phone

Summary:

polimax is too slow and has an unbearable grey fog and ugly cold tone.
once i enlarged a 30inch photos with polimax with pink200 filter, the test show me unblieveble 40 mins!!!!finally the lamp was ruined.
before you make a qualified photo, you must waste 5-10 paper for test with it's complicated filter system.
advice: never use this paper.
now polimax has almost disappeared in china market.

Strengths:

thick paper base

Weaknesses:

almost impossible to control the result with humen ability

Similar Products Used:

ilford ,agfa, oriental

Customer Service:

not professional. no reaction and no reply when asked.they are always very busy. little help in china.

Weaknesses:

Well, fast – you don’t have the time to stop developing if something went wrong.
