from Gary's Camera via Eb Summary: I've needed a medium format scanner for years, but I just haven't had the $3000 or more for the Multi Pro or the Nikon 8000, and I did not have $2300 for this scanner when it first came out. At $599, I decided to try it. My rating is based on it's current price. This is a good scanner for the money. The 2828 dpi is just fine for the 8x10's I print now. Whether it can handle 11x14 is something I'll find out later this year. The unit is surprisingly compact. The autofocus is reliable, and a definite improvement over the Olympus ES10 I had been using. The Multi 2 does not have digital ice, but I've never used Ice so I don't know what I'm missing. I think I can use my imaging software to remove scratches well enough. All told, I'm happy with my choice. Strengths: Great value (now).
Compact
Handles APS with adapter - the MultiPro does not. Weaknesses: SCSI only, no usb or firewire. Similar Products Used: Olympus ES-10
