Summary:
Well I have to echo the first review in saying that outdoors in bright conditions this camera is hard to use....But you can still manage if you have some patience. I have taken some amazing shots with this camera, and will continue to do so, until I get my dslr. Haven't figured out which one yet. Anyway, I have found this camera to be more than good enough for all around photography. Great zoom, easy to use and the rotating lens has helped me get a few pics that I wouldn't have normally gotten.

Strengths:
excellent picture clarity, great zoom, many different modes, stellar macro abilities(this thing is great for REALLY close up shots), face priority for portraits, digital zoom actually works quite well, anti vibration is okay.

Weaknesses:
No shutter delay settings...This camera does not like action shots, where you have to pan the camera with subject,

Summary:
USeless in bright conditions, and hard to use even in semit bright conditions

Strengths:
Lots of photo modes and aids, Great zoom capability

Weaknesses:
Do not purchase this if you are planning to use it to take pictures of landscapes or anything out of doors! The Nikon Coolpix S4 was a birthday gift from my husband. Had I had an opportunity to test it personally, I would never have purchased it. It lacks a view finder, and the LCD view screen is so reflective that all one can see in bright conditions the image of the photographer mirroring back at themselves. It is virually impossible to see anything of the scene one is attempting to photogragh out of doors. Also it lacks a stabalizer so a lot of the pictures are blurred, and require retaking. This is not as serious a flaw as the reflective LCD display, but can be frustrating.
