Review 1 of 1

Price Paid:  $50.00 from Locally

Summary:

The sb 21 coupled with the ar 14 is a very usefull tool to have in macro photography, my unit is coupled with a lester dine dental macro 1:1 105 2.8 very sharp lens (but thats another review). I had used the lester dine ring flash with the lens and wanted to add a sb21 to my nikon collection givin the great price of $50. Ok so its not a true ring flash but that has its ups because you can adjust the flash from left to right, also it has an illuminator bulb. In ttl mode witch can be handy for a fill flash. I can only compare the nikon sb21 to lester dines ring flash, they are both very very good infact they are very differant in a total as one is a true ring and can be used for a completly flat feild shot and beautiful eye shots the other (nikon sb21) is a good flower and nature flash. I paid $50 for it and I would now agree that on a used market $50-$150 it is well worth the money, on that note please check the compatabiltiy of your camera and the flash unit..For a final note the flash is constructed very very well like all nikon gear it is reliable and the color is well balanced and keeps the greens and blues true to their color.

Strengths:

Price on a used market $50-$150, construction is AAA+++ and the right to left options are exellent along with the illuminator bulb.

Weaknesses:

Well for $50 there are none, its a great flash and after all work with what you got and just remember the pic comes from the photorapher not the camera. If there is a down it would be for all the diggi cameras out there (no true ttl) but hey you can do it manually and save $2-300
