from eBay Summary: What a fun lens! It takes a while to get used to it, but I enjoy super-wides so much that I stayed away from a "serious" digital camera until just recently, because none of them had decent wide-angle.
This has a 49mm front thread that is only useful for one purpose: the hood. If you find one of these used, make sure it comes with the hood, which doubles as a 49mm to 72mm adaptor -- then you can put thin 72mm filters on this lens. But the front element protrudes, so the 49mm threads are otherwise useless. The hood LIVES on my lens, because it offers protection to that vulnerable front element.
This is the Zuiko for the classic "grab shot" technique of holding the camera at a different viewpoint and shooting without looking through the finder. With both this lens and the OM bodies being light weight and quiet, this works really well!
This lens used to live in my bag, but now it gets shelved in favor of the Zuiko 16mm full-frame fisheye, which I prefer for outdoors. I prefer the 18mm for indoors, where the multitude of straight lines make the fisheye, well, so obvious! Strengths: Wonderful angle of view, great optics, super light weight and small size. Fairly low flare. Weaknesses: Some corner light fall-off, especially at large apertures.
