Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $300.00

Summary:

This is a great lens. I was little concerned about its photodo rating, but it turned out to be one of the sharpest lens I ever owned. It's a bit soft at wide open, but acceptable. From 2.8 this lens is a great performer. I made some huge prints with this lens, and I am so happy with it.

Strengths:

Sharp and contrasty. Natural color rendition. Compact for the speed. high resolution.

Weaknesses:

a bit soft at wide open. Expensive for the old manual lens. Hard to find these days.

Similar Products Used:

Canon 28mm f2.8, Nikon 28mm f2.8 ais

Customer Service:

I havn't used olympus service yet.

Review 2 of 4

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

I like what the two previous people said, because my experience was similar. I test lenses as a reviewer, and I used this one for a while and then got rid of it. But then I kept going back to my prints and thinking, d***, this lens really has something. Jaime Muldoon said it well--they have a great "look." I really liked this lens a lot. It just took me a while to realize how much.

Strengths:

Like most Zuikos, handles beautifully, great size, weight, feel. Images are a cut above.

Similar Products Used:

Just about everything. I've used hundreds of lenses.

Summary:

This is the single best lens I have ever used. It beats every vaunted Caon lens-hands down.

Ihave the 28/2.8 as well as this one, this is my favorite, but I still use both

Strengths:

Sharp yet contrasty. Nice size and bright view. My favorite lens.

Weaknesses:

none.

Similar Products Used:

Various OM lenses as well as Pentax and Canon AF systems.

Review 4 of 4

Model Reviewed:
OM-Zuiko 28mm f2.0

Summary:

I've used Nikon, Leica, and Olympus and I have to say that Olympus lenses are my favorite. They're contrasty but not too much so and have a great "look." Their 28 2.0 is one of the most useful lenses for travel/people photography I've ever used. Try to find one used - they're a great value.

Strengths:

This little lens is a joy to use - compact (for an f2.0) and sharp as tacks. I probably use it more than any other lens I own.

Weaknesses:

None

Similar Products Used:

Nikon 28mm 2.0

Customer Service:

Olympus doesn't really have a broad network of professional support (a la Nikon or Canon) but I do get my repairs back very quickly.
